Hello again

Hello everyone. Things are going okay here. Just the same old things, taking B.J. back and forth to school, and housework and going to church. Not much happening. I do have a request though, my father-in-law is sick and has been for almost 3 weeks. He finally went to the doctors office today, better late than never, and I am really worried. He has been coughing up nasty stuff for almost the whole time he has been sick and at times it was dark brown junk coming up. He is 77 I believe, and his health has really went down quickly in the last few months, and he had some pretty bad skin cancers removed. My mother-in-law and I are worried that the skin cancer may have metastasized, or something and is causing this. In the past he has had a collapsed lung, I can't remember the cause, but I am worried that he may be in for a rough road. So my request of course is for prayers for him, his wife, and our whole family. I am worried we might loose him soon, and it may be a little to much to soon for my husband and family after loosing John last year. So pray for us all if you would please.
Until next time,
God Bless,
Judy

Update:
Well my father-in-law has a lung infection and a kidney infection, he had 2 IV's and a number of scripts to fill. He said the IV's helped a lot and I pray he will be back to himself soon. Thanks for all Prayers and please keep them coming.

I am back at last!

Well, did you think I had got lost? I didn't, but for some reason I couldn't get on my blog for a few days and I finally got it working again. I won't bore you with the details but I am back, at last! So, we had a blast at the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes convention. I am going to try to go again next year as well. It was great spending the time with B.J. and supporting her in her activities as well as the other youth of our congregation. Here is a picture of B.J. and myself:
One of her friends took this for us while we were doing the picture scavenger hunt. Isn't my daughter a beauty? I sure think so. Also here is a couple pictures that we took of the scenery inside the hotel.

There were waterfalls and gardens and the picture of the woman dressed as a vine is known as Devine. She walks on stilts, and is a 9ft walking vine. She doesn't talk she just walks around and wraps around the polls and sometimes you can't even tell that it is an actress in costume. We had a great time, but I was very glad to get home that is for sure. God has bless us with the ability to do this together, and I pray he lets us do it again next year.

May God bless you all, and keep you healthy.

Well, we are still having fun!

Well we are still in Nashville and having fun. I am so proud of B.J. as she has made it to finals in Speech for the 8Th grade. We will find out tonight were she placed, it will be in the top six. She has song leading at 4:30 this afternoon, and I pray she does well in it too. But either way I will be very proud. She did place 3rd for her web page and got a nice trophy for it. I am glad that they award the kids this was, but placing isn't as important and the support they receive and the experience they get so that as they grow up they can grow in the church so that one day they can help to lead the Church and bring more to Christ. That is the important thing, God!
I am so thankful that I was able to be here this year and be a part of B.J.'s Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes experience. I pray that John is looking down on her, and that he is as proud as I am. Well, I will post again real soon.
Until then may God Bless and Keep you safe,
Judy

Hello again!

Well we are here! We are in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel and we had fun last night. We have a Photo Treasure Hunt that we did last night until almost 10:30 and are planning to finish this morning. We have to find the different places here at the hotel that we are given hints on and take a picture of the group. I haven't walked that much in who knows how long, but it was fun. Today is pretty much a free day, and the kids start their competitions tomorrow at 11:00am. I am enjoying the time with B.J. and her friends. I will post a picture when we get home, I forgot my SD card adapter for my laptop or I would already be doing it. Leave it to me to leave one of my favorite computer things at home.
Well, until next time, May God bless you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long time no Post!

Sorry that it has been so long since I last posted. I have been on a roller-coaster ride lately. Of course the 15Th was the day that marked the 11 month mark of John's death and I was really off last weekend because of it, plus I got some new glasses last week and I am having a hard time adjusting to them. My first set of bifocals, and I do not like them much at all. I do good with distance, but trying to focus on the computer screen or a book is really hard for me right now.

Well, B.J. and I are off to her convention today, we will be gone until Sunday and I am looking forward to spending the time with her, even if she is mad at me right now. We don't agree on what type of top is appropriate for a 14 year old to wear, especially to a church activity. Oh well, she will get over it eventually.

Well, I don't have much to post other than this so I will go for now. Take care and God Bless,
Judy

Hello!

Hello all, hope this post finds you all doing well. It has been pretty here lately, mild weather with 50 and 60 degree weather, like Spring I guess you could say. We are doing well, and getting ready for our trip to Nashville for Lad to Leaders/leaderetts next week. I am looking forward to doing something with B.J. that she is interested in. I am so proud of her.
It is hard to believe that in one month and 3 days, it will be a year since John earned his angel wings. Sometimes I still get down, and teary eyed, I guess that is normal. I don't know to many people in my life that have lost a child to an illness or accident to ask really. But I am dealing with it, I don't try to hide my feelings or cover them up anymore like I used to, and I don't hold the pain in and let it fester and pull me apart at the seams so to speak. I have learned that with God, prayer and rest, we can deal with any situation. I am not saying it is easy by any means, but God never promised life to be easy. But if we give ourselves to him and are faithful to him, he will have a place for us that will be the absolutely greatest place. Happiness is for us to take in hand, not to be given to us as is Love, and Faith. So take time to be happy, even in sad times, Love like there is no tomorrow, and Laugh hard and often. Enjoy life, and do the best you can with what you are given. You don't have to have everything, you don't have to be rich, you only have to have faith, and let God take care of the rest, then life will be just fine. There will be hard times, sad days, and even times of bitterness and anger, but give it to God and he will take care of you always. Take time to tell the people you love how you feel, and treat others as you would like to be treated, and if we all do this the world could turn into a much better place.
So until next time, May God bless you all,
Judy

I got my wish!

Hello all, I know, it has been a while, but I didn't feel like being online much so I haven't been. But today I feel good and I got my wish. IT SNOWED!!! We got about 2 1/2 inches last night. I got up and and went outside and made a snow angel for John.

So, I just went out and laughed and looked up into the sky, and said,"This is for you, John." I laughed and remembered the time we had a little snow while up at Ronald McDonald House and we had to go to clinic. Of course I helped him get to the car without falling, put his walker in the back seat, and while I was going to my side of the car he hit me with a big snow ball, and started laughing and got into the car before I could get him with one. He laughed all the way to the clinic that day, he had got me and he knew it too. Such sweet memories.

Here is a shot of our yard, it is pretty, but it is cold. The little boy I am babysitting today will be out there in a little while. I am going to go out with him and maybe make a snow man, or have a snowball fight, or just have fun watching him. We shall see. I do know that it is to pretty to not enjoy. Take time, no matter what the weather, to just have fun and laugh and remember the sweet times.

God Bless,

Judy

Wow!

Wow, it has been a very busy couple of days since I last posted. I finally got to feeling better, thank God, and yesterday I spent the day helping get ready for our annual Youth Rally at Church. I was helping with the registration and setting up for everyone to register. Our Church has a youth rally every year, and this weekend is the time for it. At last count last night we had about 600 youth and adults, some of which stay in town, and today there are about 3 more congregations who are supposed to be represented with people present. There were about 700 that pre-registered, and if we get even close to that number we will have the highest attendance since starting the event. We feed them 3 meals plus snacks during the 2 day event, so there is plenty for us as a congregation to do. But it is God's work, and I totally enjoyed helping out. This is the first year I have had the pleasure of helping and I hope to help again next year.

B.J. is doing good, she stayed at a friends house last night after the rally, and they were up bright and early I am sure, so that they could go back up and have breakfast and start another day of fellowship, devotionals, and worship. What a great way to spend a weekend. She will be bone tired for sure tonight, and probably a little grouchy, but I can deal with it.

I am babysitting today, and the little guy is a little young for the rally, so I am at home. The Church has a Kids rally for the younger kids in the fall, and if I am still sitting then, I will take him to that one. He will probably really enjoy it.

Well, that is about all for now, I will update again later. Until then, may God bless and keep you all!
Judy
